Tina Chen

Tina Chen ( Chinese  陳 婷 , Pinyin Chén Tíng ; born November 2, 1943 in Chongqing ) is an American actress of Chinese origin. She gained notoriety through roles in films such as Ruler of the Island and The Three Days of the Condor .

Life

Tina Chen grew up in China, Hong Kong , Taiwan, and Tokyo before moving to the United States. Prior to her acting career, Chen worked in a research department at the New York Blood Center. She also founded a healthy food business with Food Liberation in New York .

After her acting debut in 1967, Chen gained notoriety through appearances in numerous film productions. These include Alice's Restaurant (1969) or the leading female role alongside Charlton Heston in Rulers of the Island (1970), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. In The Three Days of the Condor , Chen was seen in the role of Janice Chon as a colleague of the main character Joseph Turner played by Robert Redford in 1975 . In addition to her film career, she also works as a television actress, for which she received an Emmy nomination.

Tina Chen is an editor and has written four pieces of music as a composer, which have been performed at festivals in New York and Vermont . She also serves on the council of the annual Aspen Music Festival and School .
