Tina Seidel

Tina Seidel (born June 3, 1974 ) is a German psychologist and educational researcher. Since 2010 she has held the Friedl Schöller Endowed Chair for Educational Psychology at the TUM School of Education at the Technical University of Munich .

biography

Tina Seidel studied psychology at the University of Regensburg and at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She wrote her dissertation at the Leibniz Institute for Science Education (IPN) at the University of Kiel on teaching-learning scripts in physics lessons. In 2002 she completed her doctorate with distinction. By accepting a call for a junior professorship at the Leibniz Institute for Science Education (IPN) in 2003, Tina Seidel continued her research focus on video analysis in science lessons. After a stay at Stanford University School of Education, she took over as deputy head of the educational science department at the IPN in 2006. In 2007, after a successful interim evaluation, Tina Seidel accepted the call of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena to the chair for educational psychology at the Institute for Educational Science. In 2010 she accepted the call to the Technical University of Munich and took over the Friedl Schöller Endowed Chair at the Technical University of Munich , which she still holds today.

Scientific work

Tina Seidel's research interests lie in teaching and teacher research. Her main research interests are the investigation of individual requirements in students and their effects on teacher-student interactions, the development of media-based tools for teacher training, and the promotion of evidence-based teacher training.

Tina Seidel is the project manager of various research projects. a. by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) . In addition, she leads the first German-language clearing house class to promote evidence-based teacher training with the help of research syntheses and meta-analyzes.

In addition, Tina Seidel is the author of numerous books and magazine articles on topics in teaching, teacher and university research. Since 2015 she has been a member of the expert committee for the Education Action Council .

Tina Seidel's research has been recognized by numerous prizes. In 2008 she and Richard J. Shavelson received the Review of Research Award from the American Educational Research Association .
