Stanley J. "Tiny" Sandford (born February 26, 1894 in Osage , Iowa , † October 29, 1961 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

life and career

Stanley Sandford first worked in the theater and began acting in film productions in the 1910s. First he played for Mack Sennett . He chose the artist's first name Tiny (Eng: 'tiny'), although the name was rather ironic: in fact, Sandford was almost two meters tall and weighed about 150 kilograms. With this build, he was mostly used in intimidating roles as a police officer, bouncer or thug. Mostly he appeared in comedies, only very occasionally did he appear in more serious film material. In the silent film era, he starred in Gold Rush (1925) and The Circus (1928) alongside Charlie Chaplin , who was considered one of his best friends.
