action
Stan is quite suppressed by his wife, but doesn't want her to spoil a nice evening with Ollie. He forges a "secret" plan with Ollie over the phone, but his wife overhears. This is angry and as a punishment replaces the liqueur Stan wants to take with him with peppered soapy water. In the café, the two of them are having a great time, laughing, crying and not even noticing that the soapy water has replaced the liqueur. It's not until you see Mrs. Laurel that the fun ends. Because she has a rifle with her and shoots after the two in anger, so that the car in which Stan and Ollie want to escape falls apart.
background

- To make Stan wiggle his ears, they were attached to threads that people from the camera team pulled. The scenes were recorded slower, so that the most natural effect possible.
- The music was cut in on the occasion of the re-performance in 1937. It was taken from the films The Double (1936) and Two rode to Texas (1937).
- A Spanish and a French version of the film were also shot.
