René Audet
René Audet (born January 18, 1920 in Montreal ; † June 12, 2011 ibid) was a Canadian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Joliette .
Life
René Audet was on 30 May 1948 by Archbishop Joseph Charbonneau of Montréal for priests ordained.
Audet was, among other things, parish vicar in Rouyn-Noranda and sick chaplain. In 1958 he became Vicar General in Ottawa .
Pope John XXIII appointed him on May 21, 1963 auxiliary bishop in Ottawa and titular bishop of Chonochora . The Archbishop of Ottawa, Marie-Joseph Lemieux OP , donated him episcopal ordination on July 31 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were William Joseph Smith , Bishop of Pembroke , and Maxime Tessier , Bishop of Timmins .
He attended the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
He was on January 3, 1968 by Pope Paul VI. appointed Bishop of Joliette .
On October 31, 1990, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
