Tisethor was a princess of the ancient Egyptian 5th dynasty and a granddaughter of Pharaoh Djedkare .

Origin and family

Tisethor was the only known daughter of Princess Chekeretnebti and thus a granddaughter of Pharaoh Djedkare Isesi, the eighth and penultimate ruler of the 5th dynasty. Your father is unknown. She had two uncles named Isesianch and Neserkauhor and three aunts named Hedjetnebu , Mereretisesi and Nebtiemneferes .

Tisethor was buried in mastaba B in the family cemetery of Djedkare in Abusir , which was originally only built for her mother. For this purpose, another grave shaft with a sarcophagus chamber for the burial of Tisethor was created north of the central grave shaft and a room in the grave chapel originally intended as a magazine was converted into another sacrificial room.

The remains of Tisethor's mummy were found in the northern sarcophagus chamber . An anthropological study found the age at death to be 15 or 16 years.
