Tisvilde is a small town on the north coast of the island of Zealand on the Kattegat in the Danish region of Hovedstaden . It is located about nine kilometers northwest of Helsinge and about 24 kilometers northwest of Hillerød . On January 1, 2020, the city, which belongs to the Gribskov Commune , had 1533 inhabitants.
In the immediate coastal area in the north of Tisvilde, which is called Tisvildeleje , there are former fishermen's huts, many of which have been converted into holiday homes . The area is characterized by extensive sandy beaches and forests . Tisvilde is particularly popular as a holiday destination in summer .
