Tita Gaehme

Tita Gaehme (born October 17, 1949 in Rinteln ) is a German theater scholar and historian who works as a publisher, theater dramaturge and director, radio and television author and editor and author of several books.

Career

After graduating from high school in Bückeburg in 1968, Tita Gaehme studied theater studies, literary studies, history and economic history in Hamburg and Cologne from 1968 to 1974. During her studies she founded the publishing house Gaehme & Henke in Cologne, which u. a. the series Kampf in der Betriebe and Produktion Ruhrkampf appeared. Together with Rolf Henke , Eusebius Wirdeier , Dorothee Joachim and Jens Hagen , she developed the successful underground magazine Ana & Bela in Cologne from autumn 1969 , which became a forerunner of the later alternative city newspapers Kölner Volksblatt and StadtRevue as the "kölnisches Volksblatt" .

In 1975 she founded the Prometh publishing house , which she managed until 1994 and in which u. a. Works by Elfriede Jelinek , Günter Wallraff , Rosa von Praunheim and the series history below were published. From 1989 to 1993 she was a. a. employed as artistic director and head of dramaturgy at the Schauspiel Bonn and at the Wuppertaler Bühnen .

Since 1993, Tita Gaehme has been producing features and radio plays for television and radio as an author and director, including WDR , Deutschlandradio and other public broadcasters. Since 1996 she has been a member of the Film Funding Committee of the Filmstiftung NRW and chair of its jury in various funding areas, including in 2009 in the promotion of young talent and in 2013 in Production III .
