Tito Ricordi (music publisher, 1811)
Tito Ricordi (born October 29, 1811 in Milan ; † September 7, 1888 there ) was an Italian music publisher.
Life
The son of the publisher's founder Giovanni Ricordi joined Casa Ricordi in 1825 as an engraver , which he took over after the death of his father in 1853. He played a major role in the cultural activities of Casa Ricordi, organized concerts with Franz Liszt , Sigismund Thalberg , Charles-Auguste de Bériot and John Field , played duets with Liszt as a skilled pianist and accompanied singers such as Giuditta Pasta , Maria Malibran , Domenico Donzelli , Luigi Lablache and Giovanni Battista Rubini . In 1863 he was one of the founders of the Società del Quartetto and was probably also instrumental in founding the Gazzetta musicale di Milano . From 1858 he was assisted by his son Giulio Ricordi as managing director of the publishing house, which was his successor in 1888.
