Titular diocese of Kearney
Kearney is a titular bishopric of the Roman Catholic Church in Nebraska .
The diocese was founded on March 8, 1912 from areas of the Diocese of Omaha and replaced on April 11, 1917 by the diocese of Grand Island . It belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Omaha and was 38,000 square miles in size. Kearney was added to the list of titular dioceses in 1995 and was first occupied as such in 1997.
