Titular diocese of Philae
The diocese Philae ( Italian diocesi di File , Latin Dioecesis Philitana ) is a titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church . It goes back to an earlier diocese of the ancient city of Philae in the Roman province of Aegyptus or in the late ancient Thebais in Upper Egypt , which belonged to the ecclesiastical province of Ptolemais .
