Titus Corlățean

Titus Corlățean (born January 11, 1968 in Medgidia , Romania ) is a Romanian politician and in 2007 was a member of the European Parliament for the Social Democratic Party ( Romanian Partidul Social Democrat ).

In the course of Romania's admission to the European Union , he was a member of the European Parliament from January 1 to March 8, 2007 , where he was a member of the Social Democratic Group in the European Parliament . On March 9, 2007 Vasile Puşcaş moved to the European Parliament for him .

On May 7, 2012, Titus Corlățean was appointed Romanian Minister of Justice, and on August 6, 2012, he was appointed Foreign Minister in the Ponta cabinet . His term of office coincided with the state crisis in Romania in 2012 .

On November 10, 2014, he resigned due to insurmountable differences with Prime Minister Victor Ponta regarding the electoral method for Romanians abroad in the upcoming presidential election. Teodor Meleşcanu was elected as his successor .
