Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Romania)
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Romanian : Ministerul Afacerilor Externe (MAE) , is one of the ministries that are part of the Romanian government.
It was founded on July 20, 1862 under the name of "Ministry of Foreign Affairs" ("Ministerul Afacerilor Străine", MAS) under the direction of Apostol Arsache . This name of the ministry was retained until the People's Republic of Romania was renamed the Socialist Republic of Romania (August 21, 1965). At that time the institution was given the name that is still valid today.
The acting Foreign Minister has been Bogdan Aurescu ( non-party ) in the Ludovic Orban cabinet , PNL , since November 4, 2019 .
