Ilie Văduva

Ilie Văduva (born July 21, 1934 in Aninoasa , Gorj district ; † 1998 in Bucharest ) was a Romanian economist , university professor and politician of the Romanian Communist Party PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) and from 1965 PCR (Partidul Comunist Român) , who among others was Romania's Foreign Minister between 1985 and 1986 . In this function he was a member of the Defense Council of the Socialist Republic of Romania from 1985 to 1986 .

Life

Studies, university professor and rector of ASE

Ilie Văduva attended the Middle School of Public Finance in Târgu Jiu from 1950 to 1954 and then began studying at the Faculty of Finance, Credit and Accounting and the Bucharest Business Academy (ASE) (Academia de Studii Economice din București) , which he graduated in 1958. He then took up his professional activity as a research assistant at the Bucharest Business Academy, where he then worked as a research assistant until 1961 . In 1961 he became a member of the Romanian Communist Party PMR (Partidul Muncitoresc Român) and then worked until 1968 as an activist in the propaganda department of the Uniunea Tineretului Comunist (UTC), the youth association of the PCR. After completing a postgraduate course in business informatics between 1968 and 1970 , he worked in the secretariat of the party committee of the Bucharest Business Academy between 1970 and 1973, member of the party committee of the University of Bucharest and lecturer for the organization and design of automated data processing at the department of accounting there Accounting. 1973 Văduva took over the function as director of the office of the party committee of Bucharest and was there at the same time deputy head of the propaganda department until 1976. At the twelfth party congress of the PCR (November 19 to 23, 1979) he became a candidate for the Central Committee (ZK) of the PCR. In January 1980 he became rector of the Bucharest Economic Academy and held this position until November 1985. As such, he was also a member of the Office of the Party Committee of the University Center and a member of the Bucharest City Party Committee. At the same time he became a member of the Grand National Assembly (Marea Adunare Națională) in 1980 and was a member of this until 1989. At the beginning of his parliamentary membership on April 1, 1980, he became a member of the Parliamentary Commission for Foreign Policy and International Economic Cooperation and Vice-President of the Romanian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). At the thirteenth party congress of the PCR (November 19 to 22, 1984) he became a member of the Central Committee of the PCR and was a member of this body until the collapse of communism in the course of the Romanian revolution on December 22, 1989. Between March 1985 and December 1985 he was Vice President of the Grand National Assembly.

Foreign Minister and Foreign Trade Minister

On 11 November 1985 Ilie Văduva broke Ştefan Andrei as Foreign Minister of Romania (Ministrul Afacerilor External) , and has held this ministerial post in the Cabinet Dăscălescu II until August 26, 1986, after which Ioan Totu became his successor. As Foreign Minister, he was also a member of the Defense Council of the Socialist Republic of Romania from 1985 to 1986 . He then served in the Dăscălescu II cabinet between August 26, 1986 and June 18, 1988 as Minister of Foreign Trade and International Economic Cooperation (Ministrul Comerțului Exterior și Cooperării Economice Internaționale) . At the meeting of the Political Executive Committee of the Central Committee of the PCR was held on June 17th. His wife Elza Văduva was also a candidate for the Central Committee of the PCR between 1979 and 1984.

Văduva has received several awards for his longstanding services, including the Order of Labor Third Class (Ordinul Muncii) , the Star of the Socialist Republic of Romania Fifth Class (Ordinul Steaua Republicii Socialiste România) and the Order for Scientific Merit Second Class (Ordinul Meritul Științific ) .
