Tiziano Sclavi (born March 3, 1953 (according to other information: April 3, 1953 ) in Broni , Province of Pavia , Italy ) is an Italian author , comic book author and journalist . The author of ten novels gained particular fame through the comic Dylan Dog , which was also made into a film .

life and work

Sclavi wrote numerous articles for various magazines and newspapers. He began his comic career as a co-author of Alfredo Castelli on his series Gli Aristocratici . In 1981 Sclavi became an editor at Cepim, later Sergio Bonelli Editore. There he wrote scenarios for the series Zagor , Mister No and Ken Parker . With Dylan Dog he created his most famous character in 1986. The comic series, drawn by various cartoonists, is about a London private detective and is also very successful outside of Italy.

Sclavi is the author of a total of ten novels, two of which were also made into films: Nero with Sergio Castellitto and Chiara Caselli was published in 1992, DellaMorte DellAmore with Rupert Everett was published in 1994. The comic book adaptation Dylan Dog: Dead of Night came in 2010 the cinemas.

Sclavi's adventures from the Dylan Dog series have been published in German by the publishers Carlsen and Schwarzer Klecks. He was awarded the Yellow Kid at the 1990 Lucca Comics Festival.
