Tobias Haug (born June 25, 1993 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a former German Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Tobias Haug started Nordic combined at the age of nine. At the Junior World Championships in 2012 in Erzurum , he finished 14th.

In the 2012/13 season he moved to the A-team and made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup on January 26, 2013 in Klingenthal . Right away he managed to get a place in the points as 20th.

Haug's best placements so far in individual World Cup competitions are 15th in Ramsau am Dachstein on December 15, 2013, where he was second after jumping, and 14th place on January 17, 2014 at the start of the “Nordic Combined Triple ”in Seefeld . In Val di Fiemme he fell while jumping on January 29, 2015 and suffered a broken ankle and a tear in the syndesmosis ligament . On January 26, 2016, he and Tino Edelmann achieved a podium finish in the World Cup for the first time with second place in the Val di Fiemme team sprint .

On December 22, 2017, Haug announced on his Facebook page that he was ending his active career. Recently he was plagued by falls again and again.
