Tobias Moers

Tobias Moers (* 1966 in Freiburg ) is a German manager and acting managing director of the British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin . Before that he was head of the Daimler subsidiary Mercedes-AMG from 2013 to 2020 .

Life

Moers studied mechanical engineering at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences . After graduating as Diplom - industrial engineer (FH) Moers was involved in the development of an electric vehicle concept. In 1994 he joined Mercedes-AMG GmbH and worked there in various development functions. In 1999, as part of the multi-part takeover of Mercedes-AMG by Daimler AG , he took over overall responsibility for the large series. From 2002 he was in charge of overall vehicle development for all AMG series. In 2011 Moers was appointed as a member of the management team chaired by the then managing director Ola Källenius . On October 1, 2013, Moers succeeded Källenius as Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG.

In May 2020 it was announced that Moers is leaving AMG at its own request and switching to the British sports car manufacturer Aston Martin . There he took over the management as CEO from August 1, 2020 . The now vacant position at AMG was filled by Philipp Schiemer, who was previously head of the Daimler truck plant in São Bernardo do Campo , Brazil .
