Todd Nicholson

Todd Nicholson (* 1972 in San Francisco ) is an American jazz bassist.

Life

Nicholson studied in New York with Billy Bang , William Parker , Butch Morris and Ras Moshe . Since the early 2000s he has also worked with Assif Tsahar , Butch Morris' Jump Arts Orchestra, Sirone , Peter Brötzmann , Roy Campbell , Eddie Gale , Frank Lowe , Alan Silva , James Spaulding and Steve Swell . He now lives in Japan, where he works with Tatsuya Nakatani , Michiyo Yagi , Keisuke Ohta and at Satoko FujiiNew Trio ( Spring Storm , 2013) plays. In addition, he led his own formation Otic Band / Ensemble and Lemon Law Arbitration . In the field of jazz, Nicholson participated in eleven recording sessions between 2001 and 2008.
