The Tolfaberge (Italian Monti della Tolfa ) are a low mountain range north of Rome , which belongs to the Antiappennino Laziale. It is bordered to the west and south by the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea between Civitavecchia and Santa Severa , to the east by the Sabatine Mountains and to the north by the Mignone River and the Monti Cimini. The only places are Tolfa and Allumiere .
The Tolfa Mountains have been used to mine minerals such as iron ore and alum since the Etruscan era . Today, however, they are one of the most lonely areas of Lazio, so that here, along with many other animals, the Tolfa wolves also have a retreat.
