Tolino Vision 5

The Tolino vision 5 is an e-book reader from the Tolino Alliance and is “practically identical ” to the Kobo Libra H2O . It was released on October 16, 2019. Design and size therefore differ from its immediate predecessor, the Tolino Vision 4 HD , especially with regard to the larger display dimensions, the edges between the edge of the housing and the display and the handle bar with two physical scroll keys.

The water protection known from previous models is also available in the Vision 5, instead of the special "tap2flip" scrolling function, there are now scrolling buttons. The 7 ″ E-Ink Carta glass screen with an HD resolution of 300 ppi (1264 × 1680 pixels with 16 gray levels) can be used in portrait and landscape form by means of semi-automatic display rotation: When rotated accordingly, a symbol is displayed, which must be actuated in order to carry out the image rotation. In addition to a dark mode, there is a mode for poor eyesight in which all controls are enlarged.

This e-book reader also offers a Hall sensor that allows the use of so-called “intelligent” protective bags and, like the previous model, 4 HD 8 GB internal memory and background lighting , the color temperature of which can be controlled manually or depending on the time of day. The built-in lithium-polymer battery has a capacity of 1,200  mAh , which is less than the Vision 4 HD, which was still equipped with 1,500 mAh. Furthermore, the flat surface has disappeared compared to the previous model, which makes the eBook reader no longer look so elegant. A memory card slot is also missing in this model.
