Tolofona ( Greek Τολοφώνα ( f. Sg. )) Is a municipality in the central Greek municipality of Dorida on the Corinthian Gulf with 2762 inhabitants (2011). The eponymous village Tolofona was called Vitrinitsa before 1927.

location

The municipality of Tolofona extends in the southeast of the municipality of Dorida on the Corinthian Gulf over 131.384 km² and is therefore the municipality with the smallest area. In the southeast, the municipality of Galaxidi borders the municipality of Delfi , in the north the municipality of Lidoriki and in the west Efpali . The territory of the municipality of Tolofona includes the four islands of Trizonia , Prasoudi, Agios Nikolaos and Agios Ioannis, of which only the island of Trizonia is permanently inhabited.

Administrative division

As part of the 1997 territorial reform , the municipality of Tolofona was formed from the amalgamation of nine rural communities. The administrative seat was Eratini This went according to the administrative reform 2010 in the newly founded municipality Dorida as one of four municipal districts.
