Mani Beckmann
Mani Beckmann (born December 26, 1965 in Alstätte / Westphalia) is a German writer and author of detective novels , screenplays and historical novels .
Life
From 1983–1986 Mani Beckmann was a member of the punk band Brigade Fozzy as a guitarist ; During this time, the band released two singles on their own label "Punk Anderson Records". After high school and community service, he began studying film & television studies and journalism at the Free University of Berlin in 1986, completing his master's degree. During this time he had been working as a freelance journalist and film critic since 1988 (including for the Berlin magazines Zitty and tip ).
In 1995 Beckmann became a screenplay editor in the television film department of the WDR and took part in the first Master School screenplay of the Filmboard Berlin Brandenburg with his screenplay “Tot und Mordschlag” (filmed in 1999 under the title “Recycled”). Beckmann began writing crime and historical novels as early as 1994. He is a member of the Association of German Writers (VS). Since 2009 he has published his novels under the pseudonym Tom Finnek .
Mani Beckmann is married and has two sons. He lives in Berlin .
