Tom Gladdis

Tom Gladdis (born February 24, 1991 on the Isle of Wight ) is a British automobile racing driver .

Career

Gladdis began his motorsport career in formula racing in 2007 and competed in the British Formula BMW . He finished his first season in 14th place overall and also took part in several races of the Asian and German Formula BMWs. In 2008 Gladdis moved to the North American Star Mazda Series . He decided one race for himself and was sixth overall with two further podium finishes.

In 2009 Gladdis returned to Europe and competed in the newly founded Formula 2 , a championship in which there were no teams and all drivers were looked after by the same organization. With a sixth place as the best result, he finished 20th overall at the end of the season. In 2010 he started again in Formula 2. He took part in three race weekends and finished 15th in the overall ranking with a second place as the best result. After the season, Gladdis suffered from a serious foot injury that resulted in the amputation of three toes on his left foot. In 2011 Gladdis only took part in the Formula 2 season opener.
