Tom Kühling (born August 28, 1966 ) was a soccer player at BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt . In 1989 he played for the BSG Stahl briefly in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR Football Association .

Athletic career

Kühling attended the 11th Polytechnic High School in Frankfurt (Oder) until 1983 and then began an apprenticeship as a maintenance technician. Until 1988 he did not appear in high-class football. In the 1988/89 season he joined the company sports community (BSG) Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt and played 14 point games in the second-rate GDR league . In doing so, he contributed to the surprising rise of the steelworkers in the GDR league. Although he was nominated for the top division team of BSG Stahl in 1989/90 , he only played three games in the top division:

10th matchday, BFC Dynamo - BSG Stahl 0: 0, substitute in the 66th minute
11th matchday, BSG Stahl - Dynamo Dresden 2: 2, 90 minutes right defender
13th matchday, progress Bischofswerda - BSG Stahl 2: 0, in Substituted on the 69th minute

At the end of the 1989/90 season, the contract with Kühling was no longer renewed, and he then no longer played in the higher football leagues.
