Tom Liehr

Thomas "Tom" Liehr (born December 4, 1962 in Berlin ) is a German writer and IT entrepreneur.

Tom Liehr studied computer science after graduating from high school . He worked as an editor for PM magazine , radio, as a computer consultant and software developer and has been self-employed as the owner of a software development company since 1998 . He also worked temporarily as a disc jockey.

In 1990 he received first and third prizes in the Playboy literary competition for the (later so-called) Gratwander Prize for the short stories Hello, darling, this is Harry's and on the air with the last shot . In the next few years Liehr's short stories were published in various anthologies and a. published in the computer magazine c't . He also wrote for the Austrian magazine Datum . In 2004, texts by Liehr, Ulrike Linnenbrink , Alexander Wichert and Andreas Schröter appear in the "Author's Calendar" published by Die Werkstatt ( ISBN 3-89533-435-9 ) .

Liehr was temporarily chairman of the 42erAutoren group of authors - Association for the Promotion of Literature e. V. , of which he is a co-founder.

In August 2016, filming began for the film version of the ordinary seamans ; The first broadcast of the film comedy Leichtmatrosen - Three men in a boat was on ARD Das Erste on May 12, 2017.

The novelist lives with his family in Berlin.
