Tom McGuinness
Tom McGuinness (actually Thomas John Patrick McGuinness , born December 2, 1941 in Wimbledon , London ) is an English guitarist .
Life
In the early 1960s he played in Eric Clapton's first band, the Roosters. He then joined Manfred Mann , with whom he had some successes in the 1960s. During this time he was also a songwriter for other artists.
When Manfred Mann's band broke up in 1969, he formed the band McGuinness Flint with Hughie Flint , the former drummer of the Bluesbreakers , with whom he landed the hit When I'm Dead And Gone . In 1975 this formation also disbanded.
In 1979 he was a founding member of the blues band , in which he still plays.
He also played with The Manfreds , a band that consists of the former members of Manfred Mann, but without a man himself. In 2012 he was touring Germany again with the Blues Band.
