Tom Schlueter

Tom Schlueter (born March 7, 1963 in Göttingen ) is a German pianist , composer and music producer .

Life

As a child, Tom Schlüter lived in Brussels for five years and moved to Frankfurt am Main in 1974. After graduating from high school, he began studying piano with Joachim Volkmann at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . In 1986, after completing his studies, he lived in Brazil for a few months.

Musical career

In 1990, Schlüter took over the musical direction of the variety orchestra in Frankfurt's Tigerpalast . During this time he founded the top 40 band Sound of Frankfurt . In 1995 he founded the Tom Schlueter Band , which accompanied the RTL night show with Thomas Koschwitz under his direction . In 1996 he was keyboardist, then musical director of the rock opera The Who's Tommy in Offenbach am Main. From 1997 to 1999 he accompanied the cabaret artist and singer Konrad Beikircher as a pianist . Since 2000 he has been a permanent member of the hr jazz ensemble in the Hessischer Rundfunk.

Between 2000 and 2010 Schlüter worked in his own recording studio "Off Town Music" in Offenbach am Main. There he produced the homage to Frankfurt "Music of the City - Frankfurt am Main" in 2006 together with his long-time musical friend, the drummer and music producer Valery Brusilovsky.

Tom Schlueter performed as a pianist with Jermaine Jackson , Chaka Khan , Robert Palmer , Tom Jones and Percy Sledge, among others , and worked as a studio musician and music producer for numerous well-known artists and companies. He played u. a. the unplugged album by Daniel Wirtz . He has been working as a freelance music and media producer since 2011.
