action
Detective David Toma is an undercover agent for the Newark, New Jersey Police Department. There he is known as a loner who often works with unorthodox methods. Although going it alone is a thorn in the side of both his family and his superiors, his successes against organized crime speak for themselves. To do this, he uses his ability to change his appearance and thus remain completely undetected.
characters

An undercover police officer who can change his appearance like a chameleon .
Patty Toma
His wife, who is very concerned about her husband's dangerous missions.

background
Similar to the crime series Serpico , which was created a little later, the series is based on a real person. The real Detective David Toma worked in various small roles on the series and also contributed an episode script.
When the lead actor Tony Musante surprisingly left after the end of the first season, the broadcaster initially hired Robert Blake as the new lead actor. It was later decided to discontinue the series and start a new series with Blake. This became Baretta , which came on 82 episodes in four seasons.
