Tomasz Borowski (born April 15, 1970 in Grójec ) is a former Polish boxer .

Career

Tomasz Borowski was Polish welterweight champion in 1990, Polish middleweight champion in 1993 and 1994, and Polish light heavyweight champion in 1995, 1997 and 1998. He is also the winner of the international Feliks Stamm tournaments in 1994 and 1995 in the middleweight division.

At the European Championships in 1989 he was defeated in the second round against Roberto Welin and at the European Championships in 1996 in the second round against Zsolt Erdei .

At the 1995 World Championships in Berlin , he won the silver medal in the middleweight division. He prevailed against the starters from Slovakia , Belarus , Indonesia and Morocco and only failed in the final against Ariel Hernández . However, he defeated this in February 1996 at a tournament in the Czech Republic . At the 1997 World Championships in Budapest he was defeated in the quarterfinals against Alexander Lebsjak .

In 1996 he was a middleweight participant in the Atlanta Olympics . After victories against Mohamed Mesbahi from Morocco (9: 6) and Hirokumi Moto from Japan (11: 6) he lost to Malik Beyleroğlu from Turkey (12:16) in the quarter-finals .
