Franz Albert von Kortzfleisch (born December 4, 1801 in Argelothen , † March 12, 1866 in Koblenz ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

His parents were Franz Leopold von Kortzfleisch (1755–1812) and his wife Juliane Charlotte, née Breauer (1772–1855). The father was a lieutenant . D. in Dragoon Regiment No. 8 and Herr auf Argelothen.

Career

From May 5, 1814, Kortzfleisch visited the cadet house in Berlin and was appointed sergeant there on June 18, 1818 . On October 29, 1818, he was transferred as a second lieutenant to the 3rd Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army . On February 19, 1831, Kortzfleisch was promoted to prime lieutenant and regimental adjutant . On March 20, 1836 he rose to captain and company commander . With a patent dated December 11, 1829, he was transferred to the 19th Infantry Regiment on March 30, 1839 . This was followed from March 28, 1841 a use as a major and commander of the III. Battalion in the 1st Landwehr Regiment in Tilsit . On March 27, 1847, Kortzfleisch was transferred to the 1st Infantry Regiment as commander of the Füselier Battalion and promoted there to lieutenant colonel on November 19, 1849. With a delegation of the regiment, he took part in the anniversary celebrations of Field Marshal Paskevich in Warsaw on October 13, 1850 , who was the regiment chief . On April 17, 1851, Kortzfleisch was appointed commander of the 10th Infantry Regiment and, in this capacity, a colonel two days later . On January 18, 1852, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, IV class. On May 10, 1855 he was then commander of the 19th Infantry Brigade and on July 12, 1855 promoted to major general. On June 8, 1858, he was appointed commander of the 6th Division . On January 11, 1859 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle II. Class with Oak Leaves and on May 31, 1859 Lieutenant General. On June 3, 1860, Kortzfleisch received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves, on February 12, 1861, the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Michael and on October 18, 1861, the Order of the Red Eagle, 1st class with oak leaves. Due to illness, Kortzfleisch took an eight-week vacation on May 10, 1862, to improve his health in Karlsbad . Since there was no improvement, he was put up for disposal on March 10, 1863 with the statutory pension . He was given the prospect of being re-employed if his health returned to normal.

On the occasion of the war against Denmark Kortzfleisch was on March 4, 1864 the commanding general of the Deputy General Command of III. Army Corps appointed. On June 11th, 1864 he received the Russian Order of St. Anne 1st Class, but on December 10th he was released from his duties again, but for this he was awarded the Crown Order of the 1st Class. He died on March 12, 1866 in Koblenz am Rhein.

Kortzfleisch married Julie Wilhelmine Goldbeck (1807–1862) on April 20, 1827 in Memel . The couple had several children:
