Tomasz Paczewski

Tomasz Paczewski (born March 12, 1961 in Warsaw , Poland ) is a Polish visual artist, painter and graphic artist .

Life

Growing up in Warsaw, Tomasz Paczewski studied from 1983 to 1988 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he obtained his diploma from Halina Chrostowska. From 1990 he studied at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences . In 1998 he completed his studies there as a master class student with Peter Redeker . He has lived in Hanover since 1990. From 2007 to 2009 Paczewski had a teaching position at the University of Hildesheim . He has been teaching at the HAWK Hildesheim since 2009 .

Tomasz Paczewski has been working on four groups of works since the late 1990s: “Masses”, “Self-Portraits”, “Harbingers / Messengers” and “Stories without Plot”. These series of pictures thematize u. a. the relationship between the individual and the mass. In parallel to painting, he creates large-format linocuts.
