Tomasz Kazimierz Tomczykiewicz (born March 2, 1961 in Pszczyna ; † November 28, 2015 ) was a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska (Civic Platform, PO) .

Tomczykiewicz studied at the Technical Tadeusz Kościuszko University of Krakow (Politechnika Krakowska im. Tadeusza Kościuszki) , which he left as a civil engineer . He later completed a postgraduate course at the Warsaw School of Commerce (SGH). From 1990 he worked as an independent entrepreneur. In the same year Tomczykiewicz was elected to the council of his hometown and a member of the board, which he remained until 1998. As a candidate for Akcja Wyborcza Solidarność , Tomasz Tomczykiewicz applied for a mandate for the Sejm in 1997 , but 5300 votes were not enough for entry. The following year he was elected to the Council of the Sejmik of the Silesian Voivodeship . In November 1998 he also became mayor of his hometown. In the 2001 parliamentary elections , Tomczykiewicz was able to enter the Sejm for the first time as a candidate for Platforma Obywatelska. His candidacy was also successful in the 2005 elections and the early elections in 2007 . He worked in the Sejm in the Commission for Territorial Self-Government and the Economic Commission. Furthermore, since January 2008 he has been a member of the investigation committee into the death of MP Barbara Blida .

On July 22, 2010, he was elected group leader of the Citizens' Platform and held this function until the end of the sixth legislative period of the Sejm. In the parliamentary elections of 2011, he won another seat as a candidate in the Katowice constituency. In December of the same year he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Economic Affairs under Prime Minister Donald Tusk . In 2015 he moved into the Sejm again.

Tomasz Tomczykiewicz died of kidney disease at the age of 54. He was married and the father of two children.
