Hohenreuten is a district of the Upper Swabian community of Oberrieden in Swabia .

geography

Hohenreuten is about four kilometers west of the main town of Oberrieden, high above the Kammeltal . The district is connected to the main town via Hohenreuter Straße.

history

Hohenreuten was first mentioned in 1214. With this document, a “noble Heinrich von Spilberch” handed over an estate in “Hochrüten” to the Rottenbuch monastery . After a dispute it was determined in 1256 that the "forest in Hohenrutin" belonged to the Rottenbuch monastery. This certificate was attested by "Schwigger vom Mindelberg" and "Heinrich von Angelberg". From 1545 the entire wasteland "Hohenreittin" was inherited from the rule of Mindelheim. In 1616 the wasteland was called "Hohenreutten" and also "Hehenried".
