Tombo is a coastal town on the southern Atlantic coast in the Western Area Rural district of the Western Area in Sierra Leone .

The place is about 49 km southeast of Freetown . The main industry in Tombo is fishing . Other industries in the city are mining and agriculture . Tombo is an important trading and transport hub for fishing boats.
