Tommi Tapani "Tommy" Portimo (born September 5, 1981 in Kemi ) is a Finnish drummer.

Portimo started playing drums at the age of eight, inspired by a friend who also played drums. At the age of 14 he founded the band Sonata Arctica together with Tony Kakko , Jani Liimatainen , Marko Paasikoski and Pentti Peura . Apparently the Finns originally made music that had nothing to do with metal. From 1999 the band began to play Power Metal, and got a contract with the record company Spinefarm Records . In the same year her first album Ecliptica was released .
