Tomomi Matsuda

Tomomi Matsuda ( Japanese 松田 友 美 , Matsuda Tomomi ; born May 5, 1982 in Nagasaki Prefecture ) is a Japanese badminton player .

Career

Tomomi Matsuda won bronze at the Asian Championships in women's doubles with Aki Akao in 2003 . Both also took part in the Japanese General Championships , where they came third in 2003 and 2004, second in 2005, and third again in 2006 and 2007.

At the 2006 World Cup, they both fought for 9th place together. In the mixed with Keita Masuda, on the other hand, she was eliminated in the first round at the same event. At the 2007 World Cup, Tomomi Matsuda and Aki Akao finished 9th again. At the US Open of the same year, however, they made it to the finals, but lost to their compatriots Miyuki Maeda and Satoko Suetsuna in just three sets. In the French Super Series 2007 , the pairing was in the quarter-finals as well as in the Japan Super Series 2007 and the Swiss Open Super Series 2007 .
