Anton "Toni" Angerer (* 1956 ; † May 21, 1975 ) was a German ski jumper .

Career

Angerer won the children's mini-tour in Chiemgau in 1971 and 1972. Two years later he contested his first major international competition with the New Year's competition of the Four Hills Tournament 1973/74 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . As 74th he ended up only in the back field. In the overall ranking, he finished 93rd. At the following Four Hills Tournament in 1974/75 he competed in all four competitions, with a 51st place on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck being his best individual result. In the overall standings he finished 53rd. Shortly after the tour, he was third in the German championships. In February he traveled to Lahtifor training in order to prepare for the following Lahti Ski Games on the recently rebuilt Salpausselkä hill . He fell in the inrun on February 26, 1975 and landed on a preparation machine below the take-off table. He broke his spine and was paraplegic from that moment on. He died in hospital on May 21, 1975 at the age of only 19 from his injuries.
