Toni Kater (* 1977 in Blankenburg (Harz) ), actually Anett Ecklebe , is a German musician and author.

biography

Toni Kater is Anett Ecklebe's stage name. She was born in Blankenburg in 1977. She lives and works in Berlin . In addition to her musical work, she studied musicology and German at the Technical University of Berlin . She completed her studies with Helga de la Motte-Haber in November 2006 with a master’s degree .

In 2004 she released her debut album Gegen die Zeit on the label it-sounds , followed in 2005 by the album Futter . In 2012 she founded the Toni Kater Records label , on which she released her third studio album She fell from heaven and in 2013 the instrumental album airborne . 2015 published property on the label pop out music.

Together with producer Ralf Goldkind, she recorded the album Gingua between 2016 and 2017 , on which Kristof Hahn, Rudolf Moser and Rudi Nielson can also be heard. This album is more likely to be assigned to the ambient and contains some French lyrics. In 2020 their fifth studio album The beautiful things are dangerous , which is mainly acoustically orchestrated and, like Gingua , was released again on Toni Kater Records.

Toni Kater's music was used for some commercials (2002: Cabinett; 2005: Schiesser; 2009: 60 years VW). She also composes music for film and theater (2000: Küss mich, Frosch ; 2011: Fairy Kings: if trees could talk ; 2013: Schwestern ; 2014: The truth is coming ; 2014: Tame the resisting rest of me , 2015: quarter month , 2017 : The long summer of theory ).

So far, three of her fable books have been published by Mückenschweinverlag: Graf Rudi (2011), Der Igel und die Fledermaus (2013) and Der octopus (2017).

Invitations as a musician to the silent film festival Moving Silence took her to Athens , New Delhi and Nicosia .
