Toni Schimpl

Toni Schimpl (born January 29, 1943 in Nuremberg ; † March 5, 2020 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

After attending primary school, Schimpl trained as a locksmith and for a number of years was the works council chairman of a Nuremberg company in the metalworking industry.

In 1972 Schimpl became a member of the SPD. He was first chairman of the Young Socialists in the Franconian district and then a member of the sub-district executive of the SPD Nuremberg. His main areas of work were employee policy, anti-fascism , peace policy and rehabilitation in the penal system. From 1982 to 1994 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament . For the first time he was directly elected in the district of Nuremberg-West , then via the list in the district of Middle Franconia .
