Toni Wübbens

Antonie Louise Caroline Wübbens (born May 17, 1850 in Timmel ; † December 15, 1907 in Hanover ) was a Low German poet who grew up in East Friesland . She came as the third child of the country doctor Dr. med. Anton Carl Wilhelm Töpfer and his second wife Johanna Louise Cornelia Lantzius Beninga and became known under her pseudonym " Toni Wübbens " as a Low German / Low German poet beyond East Friesland throughout northern Germany. Her collected works were published in Hanover in 1907 as a volume of poetry under the title Ut min Dbod .

Her best-known works included the poems Sünnerklaas, du gode Blod and Uns Lüttje . In addition, the family novel Die Altenhofens , which she wrote in Standard German, appeared in sequels in the Hannoversche Tageblatt, with the last episode in 1910.

She died after a traffic accident.
