Tony Blue

Tony Blue (actually Anthony Arthur C. Blue; born February 4, 1936 in Dubbo ) is a former Australian middle -distance runner who specialized in the 800-meter distance .

At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, he reached the semifinals.

In 1962 he won bronze over 880 yards at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth and finished fourth in the mile run .

Two years later he was eliminated from the semifinals of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.

He was Australian champion over 880 yards three times (1959, 1962, 1963). He set his personal best over this distance of 1: 47.8 min (corresponds to 1: 47.1 min over 800 m) on March 26, 1960 in Brisbane .
