Tony Dalton (* 13. February 1975 in Laredo , Texas as Álvaro Luis Bernat Dalton ) is a Mexican - American actor and screenwriter .

life and career

Tony Dalton was born in Laredo, South Texas, and later studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York City . He gained his first acting experience on the theater stage, where he appeared on Off-Broadway in the plays The Ballad of the Sad Café and A Streetcar Named Desire . In 1997 he was seen in the film Minotaur for the first time in a role in front of the camera.

He then moved to Mexico, where he worked in numerous local film and television productions. In 2004 he was one of three screenwriters responsible for the Mexican crime comedy Matando Cabos , in which he also played the leading role of Javier . For his performance, as well as for the production he was in 2005 at the MTV Movie Awards México as Best Actor and the Best Picture nomination. In 2007 he wrote the screenplay for the film Desperados: A Surefire Deal and also played the leading role of Carlos Sanchez . In 2008 Dalton took on a leading role as Mario Santos in the television series Los simuladores , which he played until 2009. He played the role of Augusto Mateos in Capadocia between 2008 and 2010.

In 2011 he took on a supporting role in the action film Colombiana . In 2013 he took on the leading role of Roberto Ávila in the series Sr. Ávila on the HBO Latin America Group , which he played in over 40 episodes until 2018. In 2016 and 2017 he played a small role in the Netflix series Sense8 . Since 2018 he has been seen in the role of cartel member Lalo Salamanca in the drama series Better Call Saul .
