Anthony Austin "Toni" Street (born February 8, 1926 ) is a former Australian politician . Among other things, he was the country's foreign minister . He is the son of Geoffrey Street, a former Australian MP who was killed in an airplane crash in Canberra in 1940 .

Political career

In 1966 he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives for the Liberal Party of Australia , representing the Corangamite constituency in Victoria . Until his resignation on January 18, 1984, he was always able to defend his seat in the elections.

During the second reign of McMahon (from September 14, 1971) he assisted the Minister of Labor and Defense as Minister. In Fraser's first term, he became Minister of Labor and Immigration. In Fraser's second term he was again active as Minister of Labor and assisted the Prime Minister in national affairs. In Fraser's third term, Street held several positions as minister, so that he was again active as minister of labor and economics. From 1980 to 1983, during Fraser's fourth term, Tony Street was Australian Foreign Secretary .
