Tor Ulven (born November 14, 1953 in Oslo , † May 18, 1995 ibid) was a Norwegian writer .

Life

Tor Ulven made his poetry debut in 1977. Although he published only one novel himself during his lifetime, he influenced many Norwegian writers in the post-war period. Severely depressed, he committed suicide in the city of his birth at the age of 41.

In the Norwegian film Auf Anfang (2006), which is about two young writers, the fictional role model for the main characters is based on Tor Ulven.

In 2012, the German version of his collection of short stories Darkness at the End of the Tunnel ( Vente og ikke se ) was awarded the book prize of the independent German-language publishers ( Hotlist ).
