Torben Braga

Torben Braga (* 1991 in Niterói , Brazil ) is a German politician ( AfD ) and has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2019 .

Life

Braga studied political science and public law in Jena and Marburg between 2010 and 2017 ( Master of Arts degree ). He is a member of the Germania Marburg fraternity . Braga was the national spokesman for the German fraternity in 2015 .

Braga lives in Ronneburg .

Torben Braga was a member of the FDP from 2012 to 2015, and joined the AfD at the end of 2015. Since 2016 he has been an assessor in the state board of the AfD Thuringia and u. a. their press officer.

MP

In the state elections in Thuringia in 2019 , he moved into the Thuringian state parliament on the state list of his party. He was a direct candidate in the constituency Weimarer Land I - Saalfeld-Rudolstadt III , where he came second with 25.4 percent of the vote after Mike Mohring (CDU). Since the beginning of February 2020 he has been the parliamentary managing director of the AfD parliamentary group in the Thuringian state parliament.

National and international media count Braga among the “architects” of Thomas Kemmerich's ( FDP ) election as Prime Minister of Thuringia with votes from AfD , CDU and FDP on February 5, 2020, which triggered a government crisis in Thuringia .
