Tore Hagebakken (born January 8, 1961 in Vestre Toten ) is a Norwegian journalist and politician of the social democratic Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). From March 2000 to October 2001 he was State Secretary , since 2005 he has been a member of the Storting .

Life

After finishing school, Hagebakken began working as a journalist at Oppland Arbeiderbladet in 1980 , where he stayed until 1991. From 1979 to 1983 and again from 1991 to 2005 he was a member of Gjøvik's municipal parliament . From 1991 he served as mayor of the municipality. Between 1983 and 1987 and again between 1989 and 1991 Hagebakken was also a member of the Fylkesting in what was then the province of Oppland . On March 24, 2000, Hagebakken was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. He held this post until the resignation of the government of Jens Stoltenberg I on October 18, 2001. While he was in government he was released from his post as mayor of Gjøvik.

Hagebakken moved into the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2005 general election . There he represents the constituency of Oppland and he was initially a member of the local and administrative committee. Between October 2006 and September 2009 he chaired this committee. After the 2009 election , he moved to the Health and Welfare Committee, where he served as second vice chairman. In November 2011, Hagebakken was transferred to the Judicial Committee during the current legislative period. After the 2013 election , he became part of the Finance Committee. He returned to the Health and Welfare Committee in October 2017. Between October 2006 and November 2011, Hagebakken was also part of the parliamentary committee of the Arbeiderpartiet group in Storting.

In June 2020, Hagebakken announced that he would not run again for a seat in Storting in the 2021 parliamentary election . He declared that he wanted to withdraw from politics after the election.
