Gatehouse (Rottenbuch Abbey)
The gatehouse of the former Rottenbuch monastery in today's Rottenbuch municipality in the Weilheim-Schongau district in Upper Bavaria was built around 1758. The gatehouse is a protected architectural monument .
The gatehouse was the main entrance to the walled monastery area. The Meierhof and the Klostermühle are outside.
The gatehouse consists of a covered passage with a hipped roof and two ground-floor wing structures. Today the building ensemble with the address Klosterhof 3/5/6/8 is used as an apartment.
Since the passage is only possible for vehicles with a maximum height of 2.70 m, larger vehicles are diverted a few kilometers before Rottenbuch.
