Torsil Ultra Directors Cut

In 1998 a new detergent is developed in a laboratory. The experiments take place on some tennis socks . But something goes wrong: the socks develop a dangerous life of their own. In addition, they grow a voracious mouth with vampire teeth. Only the security guard and a stupid cleaning man oppose the invasion of killer socks. Armed to the bone, they can take care of some of the socks and save a somewhat hysterical cleaning lady. But the socks manage to press the alarm button in the control room and lock all doors, so that the three are trapped. The cleaning man is supposed to remove the lock, but is killed by the socks. Then the socks fall on the security guard and cleaning lady.

Torsil Ultra FM Rust Cut

The 16-minute version contains fewer slapstick elements and a faster action cut including background music from the Last Action Hero soundtrack. In addition, the cleaning man is also portrayed as an action hero and not as a stupid buddy.

background

The film contains some handmade splatter effects as well as some digital gadgets. A more flexible hand puppet and around 100 sock dummies were created for the film, but they were not used in the film.

The film was made in 1997, but was only released on DVD in 2003 via the Lee / Leroc Filmworkshop label. Even if there is an age rating of 18 years and over on the DVD case, the film was not checked. In 2005 the film was reissued in a "Special Edition" by the Screen Power label (EuroVideo) as part of the episode film Unbelievable Terror . This version receives the age restriction " No youth approval ".

review

Haiko Herden from Haiko's Film Lexicon reviewed the film extremely benevolently:

“You will surely have noticed with the reader of the summary that this is not a serious film. The German producers of this amateur flick try to deal with their phobia of white tennis socks with a good dose of humor, and things are going very well. Everything turned out very well. The socks have a nice design and are somewhat reminiscent of the condom of horror , the background music is successful, although the Director's Cut mainly uses familiar pieces. "
