Torsten Müller (agricultural scientist)
Torsten Müller (born July 12, 1961 in Kassel ) is a German agricultural scientist at the University of Hohenheim . He is chairman of the examination and admissions committee of the European Master’s program Organic Agriculture and Food Systems and dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences in Hohenheim.
Life
Attending school in Kassel was followed by an agricultural apprenticeship with a successful agricultural internship examination in 1981. Müller graduated from the Georg-August University in Göttingen in 1983 with an agricultural trainer aptitude test (1986), graduated as a Diplom Agricultural Engineer in 1989 and obtained a doctorate in agriculture. sc agr. 1992.
This was followed by training as a “European Expert in Environmental Conservation” at the Environmental Protection Service in Münster (1992–1993); He became assistant and associate professor at the Laboratory for Plant Nutrition and Soil Health of the Agricultural Faculty of the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural College (today Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen ) (1993-2000) and research assistant in the Department of Soil Biology and Plant Nutrition, University of Kassel , Witzenhausen site ( Organic Agricultural Sciences) (2001–2004); Habilitation (Venia legendi for Plant Nutrition and Soil Science), University of Kassel (2004).
In 2004 he followed the call of Professor Fertilization and Soil Substance Management (formerly fertilization with soil chemistry) at the Institute for Plant Nutrition (today Institute for Crop Science ) at the University of Hohenheim.

Research and publications
Müller stands on the one hand in the research tradition of classical plant nutrition and fertilization theory , on the other hand he tries to answer current questions of food production with the expected climate change. He is a much sought-after speaker at agricultural science congresses and a member of the Biofector management committee; Together with his colleagues, he has written almost 100 publications over the past few years. .
