Torsten Meinberg

Torsten Meinberg (born October 31, 1960 in Cuxhaven ) is a German administrative lawyer. He is the managing director of Lotto Hamburg and was previously district office manager in Hamburg-Harburg for 7 years .

Life

Meinberg studied law in Hamburg and passed his 2nd state examination at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court . From April 1994 to March 2005 he worked as a lawyer for 11 years . From 1991 to 1995 Meinberg was a member of the Harburg district assembly for the CDU.

From April 2005 to December 2011, Torsten Meinberg was District Office Manager in the Harburg district of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg (160,200 inhabitants). He was elected District Office Manager in 2005 with the votes of the CDU and the Greens and was re-elected for a second term in 2011.

On November 29, 2011, the SPD parliamentary group of the Harburg district assembly voted out Torsten Meinberg with an absolute majority and elected the former member of the Bundestag Thomas Völsch (SPD) as the new head of office.

Meinberg has been one of two managing directors at Lotto Hamburg GmbH since April 2012, alongside Michael Heinrich. In 2016, Meinberg was also elected leader of the German Lotto and Totoblock for three years. The Deutsche Lotto- und Totoblock (DLTB) is the community of 16 independent lottery companies in the federal states. With its chairmanship, the municipal society is responsible for coordinating all overarching matters for the 16 lottery companies. This includes the representation of the DLTB externally, for example in relation to politics.

Torsten Meinberg lives in Hamburg-Neugraben , is married and has one son.
